My music: All 12 string guitar, Original compositions. Instrumental, Easy Listening (kinda)
Over 40 years playing 12 string guitar & composing.
My musical beginnings started with the Cello somewhere prior to the 7th grade.
Toss in a bit of steel guitar when my father taught me to read TAB sheet music in the 8th grade.
We moved to a new town and well, marching bands and Cellos don't mix well. So I picked up tenor snare in marching and concert band. Being naive I grabbed the Bass Guitar in Jazz band and without knowing how to read the music I played until my Senior year without being asked to go away.
My introduction to acoustic guitar came about the age of 16. I told my mother I was buying a motorcycle, walked into the house with 2 new Yamaha guitars instead. She was quite relieved.
I am currently enjoying alternate tunings on the 12 string and finding new ways for deep inner emotions to be expressed.
Early musical influence came from James Taylor, Jim Croche and John Denver. I've never really followed other musicians to a great degree. Just enough to learn some chords.
All of my compositions have someone and their story behind them.
I don't write the music, the music writes me. You know when you see tears in the eyes of someone listening, that they feel what you felt when a piece of music was born from within.
